Hear ye, hear ye, Ladies & Gentlemen the battles have began
Ladies and Gentlemen this is one battle of a Faire not to miss! The St Ives Medieval Fair will transform St Ives Showground into the Medieval world with a historically accurate living medieval village and drama filled with non-stop entertainment and medieval fun!
This family-friendly event will include an array of fun, activities, stalls, demonstrations, shows and much more to keep everyone entertained and of course be sure to dress up as a Lady, Knight, King or maybe a peasant from the medieval era.
Getting a feel of being a Knight (You can try on armour at one of the stalls)
Australia's largest historical joust will be on again this year as you witness live jousting with the very best Australian and international battles to the very end. It is the only jousting of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere where skilled knights face the full danger of a solid pine wood lance, exactly how they did back in the medieval times! The steel is real and the wood is solid so be sure not to miss this event!
Other live demonstrations, shows and performances will include Dark Ages to Middle Ages battles, full-armoured war battles, real-life birds of prey show and after you can get a very close encounter by holding one of these majestic creatures for a fee.
Watch a life-size trebuchet firing watermelons hundreds of metres into the air, or visit the tavern and medieval village where you can try on real-life armour, hold tools and speak to the experts about the medieval armour and tools.
There will also be Knight Tournament which will feature a chorus of sliding armour plates cutting through the bellows of warriors swinging axes and swords, as well as other knight battles and displays - cheer on for more action!
Be sure to try the medieval feast in the grand feasting hall as you dine in company of the King and Queen, while jesters and musicians play for your favour. See website for all details about the Feast including pricing.
