The St Ives Heritage Craft Fair , also known as the St Ives Handmade Markets, offers a shopping experience full of Australian-made products. However, because of their success, they have also allowed some stalls selling handmade items from around the world to be included in the event, but that just means you're even more likely to find something you haven't seen before.

The markets take place on the first Sunday of every month, beginning in March, and run from 9.00am to 3.00pm. There can by up to 250 stalls, but I've visited before (in February, when one did run last year) and it was only about a quarter of that size. But those 50 stalls were still all unique; there's no mass-produced pieces at this event.

Products at the markets cover your home, garden and office, family and friends, and classic to contemporary styles. There are also hot food stalls and gourmet pantry foods.

As well as the shopping, there are performances by musicians and singers, as well as kids' activities like face-painting, an animal farm, train or pony rides and plaster painting.

Parking is free and is located next to the markets at the St Ives Showground.
