The name Lego came from the word "Legio" (implying a "Legion of toys") and the word "Lego" eventuated from the Danish phrase leg godt, meaning "play well." Ole Kirk Christiansen a humble carpenter in 1916 originally built houses, then after the depression he tried toys. Finally after World War 11, plastics come about, Ole Kirk Christiansen then made the first Lego truck with plastic interlocking bricks. Lego is now a household name and will be forever part of toy history. My own son spent many hours building all sorts of things from his imagination - I often thanked the heavens for the invention of Lego for keeping me sane as a parent!
