The Garden of St Erth is set in the pretty hamlet of Blackwood, 89km N-W of Melbourne and 40km N-E of Ballarat.

The miner's cottage, which now serves as a shop, was built in the 1860's during the gold rush years.

The annual apple festival was on this weekend, apple, wine and honey tastings were on offer, plus workshops and games on the lawn. Through the year, there are workshops for those of you who grow, or would like to grow hair-loom fruit and vegetables.

After a walk around the beautiful garden, you can relax in the 'Fork to Fork' cafe where they serve a range of home-grown food and local wines, or pop in for a scrumptious Devonshire tea.

The Garden of St Erth is worth a visit any time of the year.

Whilst you are there, take a drive into beautiful Blackwood. There is the Merchant cafe for great coffee or the local pub for a meal. There is a hat shop for hat lovers.

For those of us who live in and around Blackwood, this is just another day in paradise.
