Fetes are a feast for the senses. You get to see the stupendous stalls and the treasures within them; hear the angelic voices of the school choir; smell the wonderful BBQ wafting through the school grounds; taste the delicious homemade sweets; and pick at a sticky, woolly fairy floss. Of course, there are other incredible things about the fete and countless reasons to go to one, but what I especially love about it is the community spirit.
On Sunday 24 November, the hustle and bustle of a fete will once again enter the school oval at St Anthony's School. Extremely popular in the local community, St Anthony's School fete promises to be a day of fun, giggles, play, entertainment and frivolity so save the date.
Beginning at 10:30am, this totally free event features lots of stalls, thrilling rides, yummy food and wonderful performances. Bring your sweet tooth for the cakes, ice creams, lollies and sweets; have a session of retail therapy by browsing craft, plants, produce, toys, books, and clothing; satisfy your grumbling stomach with Indian food, Asian food, hot dogs and BBQ; quench your thirst at the bar or the lemonade stand; have fun at the side show alley, jumping castle, dunking booth, plaster funhouse; and get a makeover at the face painting and mini manicures stall.
Proceeds from the fete go towards the school's social justice days as well as supporting St Anthony's School students.
With so many activities throughout the day, you wouldn't want to go home. So mark your calendars and join St Anthony's School for a great day.
