I am an academic and writer living in Melbourne. I love to travel and I also love writing about all the things Melbourne, regional Victoria and other parts of Australia have to offer.

First Horses Now Beer and Food
Two big reds, kangaroos that is, greet you as you enter into this new and innovative space. But don't worry, the kangaroos are only sculptures so they will not jump on you. This is a new brewery on the Mornington Peninsula, a hop, skip and jump to St Andrew's Beach.
Once home to a horse training facility, this brewery now invites you to sample beers and food set in an exciting new and vibrant space.
You can see clearly the remnants of horse training in the horse boxes which have been adapted to cosy booths which can be booked for groups and are well suited for families with children and people using wheelchairs. See if you can see some Melbourne Cup winners among the horse names on each booth. There is a real vibe throughout the brewery and restaurant; beer (of course), wine and food; lawns for kids to play on; and sitting and standing areas for the grown-ups - it all blends together to provide a welcoming, buzzy place to spend an afternoon or evening with family and friends.
The beers are brewed by master brewers with much experience in the beer-making business. On offer are pale ales, Australian lager, cloudy pilsner and golden ale, all with horse names and labels. As the brewery has only been opened a few months, there are plans to add other beer types to expand the beer offering.
When it comes to food, it's all covered with small, medium, share, large plates and pizza, so it doesn't matter if you come just for a quick snack or a long lunch, your appetite will be satiated. The fresh sea air, the large grassy areas and paddocks will ensure a pleasant day out in the country (only 1 hour from Melbourne).
