Let's Join Together
Festival director and Director at *Foodie Trails Himanshi Munshaw Luhar says: "
It's so exciting when the community responds so well to our efforts of bringing the community back together and back into Melbourne city. It will be a fantastic day out with lots of free activities, entertainment and most importantly amazing food! This is a celebration of culture, heritage and arts from Sri Lanka, giving you a chance to get together for Awurudhu Pola right here in Melbourne."
What to Expect
Expect performances by Sri Lankan favourite Don Sherman - The Singing Chef hosting the day, cultural dance performances by Shashilaa Dance Troupe and Theatre and Bindaas Bollywood. The day is also packed with traditional music by the community loved Sri Lankan bands The Batterii and #Hashtag.
Sri Lankan flavour delight
No celebration is complete without food and with a mouthwatering line-up including kottu roti, deviled chicken, lump rice from food trucks like Taka Taka and Lankan Feastand food stalls like Drums Café and Island Dreams. There will also be food options from other favoured cuisines like Indian and Caribbean to complete the line-up.
