Come and run this Sunday at the Sri Chinmoy Maribyrong River Run.

The 2013 Sri Chinmoy Melbourne races are a series of 8 events which are held around Melbourne and Geelong.

The Maribyrong race, held annually in October, includes a 4km, 8 km or 12km run (1, 2 or 3 laps of the 4km circuit respectively). The run is held on a track alongside the Maribyrnong River and features electronic chip timing, drink stations every 2km and the traditional post race breakfast of pancakes. Medals are presented after the race for the different event categories for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Race photos are also available on the website post the event.

The race commences at 8am with a pre-race briefing to be held 5 minutes prior.

These races, whilst still competitive, have a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere with many regulars and new comers also. They are a great introduction to those who have never raced before and parking is generally easily available.

These races were recommended to me as an initial way to start racing and I love the atmosphere of them and continue to enter these events.
