Fitzroy 1920...Gunmen, Sly Grog, Prostitution, Extortion, Cocaine, Gang Wars and Vice...but most of all, Fun!
Squizzy Taylor's Ball returns in May for an amazing evening of stage shows and interactive theatre in Collingwood Town Hall...transformed into a 1920's secret Speakeasy and brothel...with actors playing Squizzy Taylor; his partner in crime Henry Stokes, the legendary Two-Up King of 1920's Melbourne; Squizzy's girlfriend and brothel Madame Dolly Grey; his two young street urchins and apprentice pickpockets, and a host of gang members, gunmen, working girls and extras...
Featuring stage shows throughout the evening...Acrobats, Dancers, Songstresses, Magicians, Burlesque Starlets, Vaudevillians, Strongmen, Jazz Bands, Naughtiness and Mischief...and as always, Surprise!
Dance to sensational Jazz and Dixieland tunes on the dance floor in between performances...have a drink at the sly grog tent with the celebrity gangsters of Fitzroy's underworld...whisper the secret password to the gunman at the door to enter the illicit backyard Two-Up school...and listen in as Squizzy and Henry tell of their latest plans to expand their empire...while always staying several steps ahead of the police!
All the usual alcoholic delights from three pop-up bars...including a sly grog tent fitted out with vintage props and a dedicated cocktail bar stocked with delicious 20's cocktails!
