Squisito Restaurant (which means 'Exquisite' Restaurant in Italian) opened its doors in August 2013, in the beautiful suburb of Canterbury. Set on iconic Maling Road, this quaint restaurant is tucked away in a little piazza (Theatre Place) and offers convenient indoor & outdoor seating in a gorgeous, relaxed setting.

Mario, Squisito's enthusiastic owner, is exceptionally passionate about what he does and his warm, cheerful and friendly disposition is the perfect accompaniment to their delicious food and wine.

Mario has spent his working life in the hospitality industry; his extensive experience includes Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, the Windsor Hotel, Tutto Bene Restaurant and Neil Perry's Restaurant in the Qantas First Class Lounge, Melbourne. At Squisito, Mario carefully selects wines from local and international regions and his customer service is quite unique as he believes in welcoming guests into his restaurant is akin to welcoming friends into his own home.

Mario & Chef Tong

The talented staff at Squisito are headed by the highly-acclaimed Chef Tong, an international multi-award winning chef who has worked with a variety of celebrity chefs in Australia and abroad. Tong's greatest flair is working on the grills and producing high quality succulent dishes accompanied by his authentic signature dressings and sauces.

Chef Tong is extremely passionate about sourcing the highest quality fresh seasonal produce, so it no surprise that the Squisito's menu offers a vibrant celebration of Mediterranean cuisine which showcases fresh local produce from local traders. Complementing the cuisine is a diverse selection of quality wines, exclusive teas, and superb coffee.

The versatile venue has a great Function Room located on Level 1, which can seat 30 guests for a meal or 50 guests for a cocktail function. The team at Squisito is happy to tailor a menu to suit your needs (choose from 2 course or 3 course menus or a cocktail menu) and as the air-conditioned room is equipped with a projector, it is the ideal venue for business meetings, conferences, presentations or any special occasion.

Happy Hour is also offered every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5pm till 6pm, making Squisito the perfect place to unwind after a long day or to begin your evening out. Plus the lovely outdoor area is covered and heated, so it's a great spot to have a drink or dine all year round!

Squisito is fully licensed and is located by Canterbury Station.
