Sprout184 - Co Working Space

Signed up to Sprout's one day FREE trial and was amazed to discover such an eco friendly co working space almost hidden away in Fairfield, not far from the Darebin parklands and Fairfield Boathouse. Dave was quick to respond and take me through an induction. He also forwarded me a list of great eateries and coffee places all within 30 min walk (or 10 mins by one of their free bikes for tenants!)
Sprout184's open plan area is divided into zones and has beautiful hand crafted desks which seat up to 8 people, so not over-crowded. High speed wireless internet and free lockers are all part of the deal. Not noisy as it is working out of a cafe and there's a community of cool and collaborative businesses already on board.
To one corner there are bean bags and synthetic grass where you can chill out or have some fun on the games table. The other zone consists of a communal meeting space which can be closed off if you require a little privacy.
Helped myself to the free tea and coffee provided, and of course went straight for the chai capsules! During lunch I decided to try out their free bike hire which is available to all the tenants whether you are here for a day or a month. First in first served basis, so borrowed the vintage yellow bike and headed off to Northcote Plaza, getting my favorite Vietnamese salad and coriander roll for lunch!
There's a friendly vibe and I met Peter from Creative approach who was happy to challenge me to a game of table tennis. I had access to all the facilities during my trial and was impressed by their composting, recycling and clever use of natural resources. Tank water is used to flush the toilets, solar power for electricity, free bike hire, I actually felt great working out of here, knowing that I was reducing my carbon footprint.
If you prefer to work or have lunch outside, a newly constructed outdoor area with Olive and fruit trees is a nice change, soaking up the summer sunshine.
It seems like Sprout184 is already planning new zones, offices and spaces - including an outdoor garden area for people to work and relax in. It suits my needs and I am signed up to a casual package to start off with.
Prices start from only $30 per day or they have a 10 pass option for $260 pcm which is valid for 3 months. Stay tuned for regular workshops which will be scheduled for the new year.
