On 3 February 2013, Springvale will drape itself in the festive colours of celebrations to mark the . This festival proffers everything you can expect and hope for in a Chinese New Year Festival.

The Lunar Festival is influenced by the lunar calendar and is celebrated on the first full moon of the lunar year and is usually followed by 15 days of ceaseless celebrations.

The Springvale Shopping Centre, which also provides refuge to the daily Springvale market , will play the role of a hospitable host to the Asian New Year's celebrations. There will be an extravaganza of all kinds, colours and types ranging from cultural performances to delectable food, from martial arts displays to traditional fire crackers.

A crowd puller and a crowd pleaser, the Springvale Lunar New Year festival traditionally attracts approximately 70,000 people every year from all parts of Victoria and Australia.

This fiesta will incorporate an amazing array of traditional events and activities fit for all, both young and old. The program itinerary will include the following:
-Lion and dragon dances
-Martial arts displays
-Vietnamese and Khmer folk dancing
-Fire crackers
-Asian food stalls
-Games and rides
