Never thought that worms could be romantic? Then you've never been to the ( Glow Worms, Springbrook Road, Springbrook, Queensland&aq=0&sll=-25.335448,135.745076&sspn=36.982434,86.220703&ie=UTF8&hq=Springbrook Glow Worms,&hnear=Springbrook Rd, Springbrook Queensland&ll=-28.192026,153.27198&spn=0.06763,0.1684&z=13&iwloc=A 2509 Springbrook Road ).

Springbrook is an area in the Gold Coast Hinterlands that provides access to Springbrook National Park and various other things to do . The are located in the heart of Springbrook, about half an hour's drive from the Gold Coast suburb of Mudgeeraba. The attraction is run by a research centre that specialises in the preservation of rainforest species.

The tour begins in the Research Centre where knowledgeable staff provides information and commentary on 'bioluminescent organisms'. You will then be led down a 200 metre walking circuit to the viewing area. In mid November to February, you may glimpse luminous mushrooms along the way.

Finally, you arrive in the caves where glow worms can be found covering five to ten metre high vertical rock faces. The caves are completely natural and present an exhibit of glow worms in their home environment. Torches are not allowed but track lighting can be found on the ground throughout the whole circuit.

While the worms glow throughout the year, January, February and March are the best times of year for the display. Bright moon light can dim their shine so it is recommended that visitors coincide their visit to occur outside of full moon periods.

Visitors should wear comfortable shoes (no heels or thongs) and bring a rain coat and their own food, as there are no eateries on site.
