Wildflower season may be a drag for those suffering from hay fever, but what a tremendous sight it is to see the Australian wildflowers in bloom. Spring is a time to thaw when the majority of the winter rains have passed, and it is time to see life return in full bloom!

Discovering the best places to spot the most beautiful wildflowers has never been easier, with the wealth of information that the internet and the locals can provide, we have narrowed down the best places to catch a long, delightful glimpse of WA's incredible wildflowers.

Fun fast: There are over 12,000 species of wildflowers in Western Australia!

Kings Park

Kings park becomes even more spectacular as the flowers flourish in the vast Botanic garden across the park. Head here for a lovely days walk, and bring along a picnic to further enjoy the beauty of this very special place! Make sure to organise your trip to include public transport where possible, it will save you on fuel, trying to find a parking spot, and is generally better for the environment!

Mount Dale

If you are feeling a sense of adventure and would enjoy a day out in the bush, head out to the section of the Bibbulmun Track that will take you up and over the majesty of Mount Dale. Wildflowers flourish along the edges of the track, filling the warm country air with a plethora of delightful scents. Bees will dance from flower to flower as you hike past them, enjoying beautiful vistas of the surrounding hills along the way.

Whitman Park

Whiteman Park is an excellent spot to take a nice long walk amongst nature, without having to travel too far out into the country! Wander around with the kangaroos and enjoy the beauty of the many tracks and trails that wind through this expansive park. This is also a great spot for families, and for a nice picnic lunch under the trees!

Toodyay

Toodyay is a town coated with charm all year round, but it becomes extra special as the flowers cover the landscape, bringing new life to the countryside. Wide fields of bright yellow canola will greet you as you drive to this quaint country town. Walking by the riverbank will allow you to enjoy the flowers, the bush and the cheeky birds! Enjoy a stroll in the town centre afterwards and peruse the local eateries and gift shops for a truly lovely day.
