With colorful flora adding springtime cheer to the Big Apple, it's time to chase away those lingering winter doldrums. Renew your mind, body and spirit by pampering yourself or those special people in your life with some treatments at participating day spas in New York. Avail yourself of Spring Spa Week, taking place from April 16 to 22, 2012.

It's time to relax and rejuvenate from your busy schedule.

Start by signing up via the Spa Week website, after which, you'll be directed to the list of spa and wellness purveyors. Choose the ones in your neighborhood, or head over to venues you've never visited, but have always wanted to check out.

With locations in Manhattan, Queens, Westchester, Long Island, Staten Island, Rockland County, Brooklyn, Albany or Rochester—you're sure to find the ones offering the treatments you desire.

Affina Beauty & Spa at 125 Church Street (corner of Murray Street)

Peruse through your choices, and if possible, book more than one treatment. Imagine spending a few hours or the day in a blissful haven.

And the best part—each full-service treatment during the Spa Week event is priced at $50 (excludes gratuity and tax). To get the best deals, opt for treatments that don't require multiple visits to complete, like laser hair removal. Check the length of treatment time as each venue's event menu offerings vary, and you'd want more massage time if your body needs it (as opposed to nail care). Also consider the prices—you'd want to avail yourself of the services that usually cost more.

Among the array of treatments available is a 55-minute deep tissue massage at Affina Beauty & Spa.

Many venues offer a manicure and pedicure special during Spa Week.

Once you get to your venue of choice, leave your worries and hectic schedules behind. Bask in tranquil settings with flickering candles, soft lighting, nature sounds and aromatic scents meant to relax your spirit. Rejuvenate with aromatherapy massages, body scrubs and wraps, facials, manicures, pedicures and so much more.

Flickering candles add to the relaxing atmosphere of a spa.

Arrive early and start relaxing in the venue's lounge area.

Depending on the location, light snacks, water, juices or hot beverages are often available while you wait for your appointment.

Get ready to greet the season with a relaxed and renewed physical and mental outlook. But hurry and book now to ensure you don't miss out. If you can't make it to this one, you'll have to wait for Fall Spa Week.
