The National Arboretum is located just a short drive from the city centre and is a scenic place to spend the school holidays. See the following list of spring school holiday activities that will be held at the Visitors Centre - bookings are required for each.
KITE MAKING costs $10 and will be held on 25th September and 2nd October. Book into a 1 hour workshop between 11am - 3pm and then fly your new kite out on the lawns. This activity is booking up fast - get in early to secure your spot!
BONSAI MAKING WORKSHOPS costs $33.50 and will be held on 26th, 27th and 29th September. They are designed for kids over 8 and cost $33.50. Take a tour of the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection and then kids will make their own bonsai.
INDIGENOUS CULTURAL WORKSHOP costs $21.50 and will be held on the 3rd, 5th and 6th of October. Learn how to chant along to the didgeridoo, enjoy traditional indigenous face painting, paint a boomerang and learn traditional dancing.
STORY TELLING AND CRAFT WORKSHOP WITH FAY MADDISON is a free event on 3rd and 4th October. This is a rare opportunity to hear stories told by well-known Canadian storyteller, Fay Maddison.
