With Spring on our doorstep, it's apt that Spring into Gardening arrives in perfect timing, offering inspiration and tips on gardening, and sustainable living. Held at Victoria Gardens, on High St in Prahran on Sunday 13 Oct 2019 from 11am to 3pm, this is a FREE event to be enjoyed by everyone.

Logie winner and popular gardening guru Costa Georgiadis from ABCs Gardening Australia will be hosting this Festival that features free workshops, expert demonstrations, hands-on kids activities, market stalls, food trucks and more. This is where you can get your gardening questions answered and meet local specialists with loads of ideas and information. You can do your bit to support responsible waste management by bringing reusable bags and keep cups to the event.

Former MasterChef finalist Sara Oteri will be heading Change the world from your kitchen: steps to reduce food waste - on the main stage. A self-confessed greenie, she's passionate about cooking with consciousness. She'll demonstrate how a few simple changes in the kitchen can make massive changes to your life and the world.

Also on the main stage, Penny Woodward will share her knowledge on growing heirloom tomatoes and harvesting and curing garlic in a stall-based presentation. Learn about Australian Plants in Contemporary Design by Jim Fogarty who'll also be joining the lineup on the main stage. Jim is passionate about Australian gardeners adapting to our changing climate; to embrace our own unique flora and geography in modern garden design. Using several projects as a key focus, Jim will explain how he found inspiration to design contemporary Aussie gardens that'll help you reimagine the potential in your own backyard.

There'll be a few stall demonstrations to spark inspiration that includes -

Backyard beekeeping with Backyard Honey
Worm farming with the Wormlovers
Making bees wax wraps with The Grove 3429
Living with less plastic with Zero Waste Victoria

Budding gardeners of the future are not left out either with lots of fun activities for the kids such as -

Toys, puzzles and games with Stonnington Toy Library
Flower crown-making with The Sage Garden

The ever popular Bike n' Blend, where you mix your own smoothie via bike power.
