Horse racing events are popular in Melbourne and this is a list of some of the Horse racing events that will be on in the next few months in Victoria.

[b]1. FRIDAY NIGHT FRESHMANS**
[b]Date:[/b] 11th October from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm at 540-560 Windernere Road, Lara.

It's that time of year again, when it is daylight savings about to start soon and with that comes the return of Friday Night Freshmans.

Friday Night Freshmans starting from poles and rising to 70 cm. Poles, raised poles, 45cm, 55cm, 65cm and 70cm.

Cold drinks will be for sale as well as some hot food. This is going to be a fun night to encourage anxious riders, young kids and those people who worry about getting out in a big crowd. There is going to be a limited amount of riders and it is a necessity for everyone to book attend beforehand.

The cost for unlimited rounds will be just $25. With this, you will be able to share a pony however it is $25 per rider and horse combination as you are still using one of the limited places. Bitless bridles and bareback riding will be approved.

This is an event that is all about having a great deal of fun.

[b]2. BEGINNERS POLES AND GRIDWORK[/b]
[b]Date:[/b] 12th October from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm at 540-560 Windermere Road, Lara.

A fun and educational day, this will be an introduction to poles and grid work for the frightened rider, green horse or beginner rider. Poles and grid work have many benefits to your horse and your riding. Learn how to use different sorts of patterns to benefit you and your horse.

[b]3. FRESHMANS SHOWJUMPING DAY**
[b]Date:[/b] 13th October from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre, 30 Ackland Road, Lethbridge.

Lethbridge Equestrian Centre Club is hosting a Freshmans Showjumping day with small crossbars and going up to as high as you would like. This is an indoor course and is built by an Equestrian Australia accredited course builder.



The cafe will be open for this event so you will be able to buy light food.

The cost is $25 per horse and rider for unlimited jumping rounds.

[b]4. BENALLA SPRING SALES**
**Date:[/b] 18th and 19th October from 4.30 pm at Benalla Spring Show, Bridge St, Benalla.

Work has now begun for the 2019 Benalla Spring Show and the committee is looking for volunteers. It is a very small committee and they are super short on people to make things run.

[b]5. KYABRAM SHOW - HORSE SECTION 2019**
[b]Date:[/b] 19th October from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm at Kyabram Show, Kyabram.

Here there will be a Standard bred feature show including fashions on the field, hero qualifier, OTT qualifier - led and ridden.

It will be a fun ring with three open rings - childs classes, Supreme Ridden Exhibit, and four breed rings.

[b]6. GYMKHANA - SMYTHESDALE & DISTRICT PONY CLUB**
[b]Date:[/b] 20th October from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm at Smythesdale Pony Club.

This is a free event which has an annual gymkhana and Freshman Show Jumping day. It will feature Tiny Tots, Topsy rings as well as Pony Club and Open. There will also be a popular obstacle course, fancy dress and show jumping.

7. ARARAT SHOW HORSE SECTION
**Date:[/b] 27th October 9.00 am to 5.30 pm at Ararat Harness Racing Club Inc, Blake Street, Ararat.

This function will consist of led and ridden horses, show hunters, ridden shetlands, comprehensive ll breed ring, first ridden and rider classes, Topsy Ring and more. This event is affiliated with VAS Ltd and you can reach them by phoning (03) 53922551.

[b]8. LRDPC BENDIGO BANK SHOWJUMPING JACKPOT DAY [/b]
Date: 9th November from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm at Little River and District Pony Club, Wilson's Road, Little River.

There will be a power and speed round, an AM5 round, and a jackpot placings to 6th.

[b]9. SHCV HORSE OF THE YEAR 2019**
[b]Date:[/b] 22nd, 23rd and 24th November from 8.00 am at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, 170 K Road, Werribee South.
