A list of what's on and where in gardening
Spring is bursting at the seams and all the garden clubs are celebrating by holding their annual shows. Many plants are offered for sale at cheap prices at these events. Another good reason to go is you can have a chat with the people who grow the particular plant and get some good information. Here is my annual list of Spring garden shows with plant sales coming up over the coming weeks. I do hope you get out to enjoy some of them.
SA Iris Society Annual Show. Dates- 27th and 28th of October. Saturday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm,
Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Venue: Goodwood Community Centre 32-34 Rosa St Goodwood
The venue will have two halls full of iris displays. Also iris plants for sale, a trading table and refreshments. Entry $3.

Bromeliad Society of S.A. Spring Show.
Saturday 27th October, from 9am -3 pm
and Sunday 28th October, from 10 am -3pm
Venue- Maltese Cultural Centre, 6 Jeanes Street Beverley.
Free entry. Spring plant show with displays of these beautiful plants. Also, plant sales and refreshments.
Botanic Gardens Plant Sales Day.
Sunday 28 October. 10.30 am- 2.30pm.
Venue: Mt Lofty Botanic Garden, at lower garden, enter from Lampert Road.
Friends of the Botanic Gardens will be holding a plant sales day at the Plants are grown from cuttings at all three botanic gardens and include many natives.

Spring Salvia Plant Sale.
Sunday 28th October, from 8.30am-12noon.
Venue- Fullarton Park Community Centre, corner Fisher Street and Fullarton Road, Fullarton.
The Salvia Garden Group of the Herb Society of SA will hold the biggest range of salvias for sale at the one location. These plants are perfect for Adelaide's climate.
Herb Day Market by the Herb Society of S.A.
Sunday 4th November, 10-3pm
Venue- Fullarton Park Community, corner Fisher Street and Fullarton Road, Fullarton.
A bumper selection of potted herbs for sale. Also herb seeds and books. Guest Speakers presenting on a range of topics. Refreshments and homemade meals using herbs available all day. Herb identification – bring your plant sample along and let the experts help you to identify them. Free admission and parking.
The African Violet Society 2018 Show.
Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th November.
10-4pm both days
Venue- Western Youth Centre, 79 Marion Rd, Cowandilla.
Plenty of plant sales and displays, Devonshire teas. Entry $3

Cactus and Succulent Society of S.A. Spring Show.
Saturday 17th November and Sunday 18th November.
10am -4pm each day.
Venue- Felixstow Library, corner Turner Street and O.G. Road, Felixstow.
These are becoming very popular now so go along and pick up some new plants for your succulent collection. Rarer ones sell out on the Saturday. Member competitions and potted displays. Entry is $3.
Does your garden need refreshing? Perhaps you have a balcony or courtyard that needs brightening up. Spring is the ideal time to get out and get some inspiration for improving your garden. Garden Club shows have many cheap options for plant sales, so go along and make your garden outstanding this Spring and Summer.
