Spring is not over just yet
Time flies when you're having fun, it's already October - almost half way through Spring. But don't let that get you down. There are still plenty of fun spring things to do all across Victoria. No matter where you live in Victoria, there will definitely be a location suited to you. Here are ten flower, plant and garden exhibitions, shows, events not to be missed in October!



1. Gippsland Orchid Club –Spring Show
A must for orchid enthusiasts, featuring an extensive exhibition of orchids, sales, raffles and prizes to be won.

Dates: 4th October – 6th October
Times: Friday 9:00am-9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm, Sunday 10:00am-4:00pm

2. Australasian Native Orchids Spring Show
An exciting event to enjoy the varied collection of Australasian orchids at the Spring Show. One of the features is the Dendrobium Speciosum or 'Large Rock Orchid' that is displayed in the exhibition. It is a great opportunity to learn new things and how to grow them. There will also be a sales area, potting demonstrations and prizes to be won.

3. Australian Plant Society (Grampians Group) –Pomonal Native Flower Show
Featuring hundreds of native plants on display, books, art, cut flowers, and refreshments for sale. Find out more about Australia's own beautiful home grown plants and native flowers.

4. Friends of the Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens –The Friends' Fantastic Spring Plant Sale
If you are looking for something new to brighten up your garden, this is the event not to be missed. Growing Friends of the Gardens have organised a wide variety of plants for sale that are not readily available elsewhere. Come and take a look, you might find a few treasures to take home.

5. Clifton Springs Garden Club Gala Open Day
During the event there will be a plant photograph exhibition, plant displays by members, plants for sale and raffles, not to mention morning and afternoon tea. Feed your eyes with beautiful plants and your mouth with delicious food.

6. Gippsland, Baw Baw Garden & Home Expo
This annual event is the second largest in Victoria, featuring over 150 beautiful displays and sales, 40 specialist and general nurseries, beautiful flower displays, demonstrations by experts, children activities and entertainment all day. Attracting crowds of over 6000 daily come along and join in the excitement.

7. Yarra Valley Orchid Society –Spring Orchid Show

For all orchid lovers and enthusiasts, beautiful flower displays and sales and light refreshments available all day.

8. Broadmeadows & District Garden Club -2013 Spring Show

9. Mooroopna & District Garden Club -63rd Spring Flower, Floral Art & Craft Show
Featuring amazing floral artworks, spring flowers and craft. If you are after brunch, they are also offering a 2 course lunch available between 12:00pm-2:00pm at $10. Enjoy the exhibition, flowers and brunch.
