Celebrated around the world at the end of October each year, Halloween, also known as All Hallows' Eve or All Saints' Eve started origins in the ancient Celtic festival 'Samhain', marking the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture. It was believed that on the 31 October the boundaries between the living and the dead overlapped.

Halloween is now thought of as a holiday of sorts, most popular in North America celebrated with festivities including trick-or-treating, costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, party games such as apple bobbing, lighting bonfires and scary story telling. Australians are following suit as the popularity of Halloween grows with each new generation.

Embracing all things Halloween, the Docklands 'Scarefest' will run from 4 - 9pm, featuring comedy magician Count Zafiero performing his Spooky Magic Show to a family audience. Count Zafiero, aka Anthony de Masi, is regularly featured on Channel 9's 'Kids WB' performing his impressive tricks.
