As the year draws to a close the heat goes up, patience levels go down and tensions can spiral out of control.

STOP PRESS! Here are my five top ways to spoil yourself rotten!

1. Book in for a Pamper Day

Depending on your budget you can indulge in a full-on-pamper-package. There are lots of options around, but some of my personal favourites include: Abuzz Day Spa at Annerley, Remedy Skin and Body in Northern NSW

I also love Apollo's Day Spa in Wooloongabba - which is a spa crossed with an asian bath house. Bliss!

Or maybe get a relaxing buzz from a cheaper options: I DO Thai Massage , Annerley Remedial Massage @ Venus - Ben does a terrific remedial massage at amazingly cheap prices (and you can use your health insurance!!)

**2. Dinner at a new restaurant
**
Find a new restaurant and try it out. I love trying new food - always! We once bought an Entertainment Book and worked our way through a number of the restaurants in there. That was fun!

One of my favourites in the CBD is Public . I have eaten emu wagyu and worms here before. Honest! It is 5 star dining without the price tag.

But, when I want to go cheap and cheerful I head to Asian Fusion or Yim Thai in Yeronga. Owned by the delightful Nok - this is one that will be added to your local list.

You could make a list of all those restaurants you have been meaning to visit and tick them off one by one! On my list is our local Azafran .

3. Learn Something New

Learning something new makes the heart ever young.

Indulge in something just for you:

You could try a session (for more) of yoga - VIDA yoga at Annerley is great and they also do Salsa / Latin dance classes!

Can you play croquet ? I can't but would love to try. There is a great little place in Yeronga for you to try your hand at this age old sport!

On my to do list is learn how to knit. There are many knitting and crocheting classes about these days. Crochet for a Cause on the Gold Coast caught my attention, But I know there are many many more out there - including an upcoming Rag Rug workshop in Annerley.

But there are loads of other Learn To classes. Check out your local community centre for ideas.

4. Pedicure or Manicure

I think having some colour added to your nails makes you feel brighter instantly! And you can choose an option to fit your budget. Either go all out and book into a spa. Or find one of those little nail bars that will soak, scrub and polish until you feel a million dollars!

Venus Hair and Beauty do a great shellac. Otherwise I also like the nail bar on Ipswich Road "Divine Nails".

5. Theatre

You can head off to the happenings of QPAC and make an evening of it. Or, you can keep it local, and check out the ameteur theatre at it's best at places like St Lukes Theatre . Their 2015 productions are up on the web - and it looks like great fun to be had!

So, there you have it. My top 5 ways to spoil yourself (or a loved one).

What have you got planned to spoil yourself?
