I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Silly slapstick fun has been brought to Parramatta by an award-winning circus trio Dummies Corp. Playing five shows at the Lennox Theatre during the 2019 Sydney Festival Splash Test Dummies is a delight for all ages.
The fun begins as you are directed to stay between the flags upon entering the theatre. One lucky patron is chosen to be the "Splash Zone" but is protected with towels and a tarpaulin ensuring they are the only person to stay completely dry. During the following hour, various aquatic adventures include the beach, bath, swimming, water skiing and deep sea diving.
Audience participation is a given especially during a fun game of beach volleyball. Various audience members get rescued Baywatch style and one may become collateral damage during a super soaker gun fight.
Jamie Bretman, Jack Coleman and Simon Wright aka The Dummies entertain and amaze with their feats of human strength and agility, synchronised unicyling, juggling and magic tricks. They ignite the imagination of the audience by transforming everyday items into sea creatures and aquatic equipment.
The trio like to build rapport with local communities and make a point of meeting their audience after shows. Circus skills and clowning workshops can be arranged for up to thirty participants aged more than six. The guys travel internationally and are a popular act at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
