may sound like a water park, but its actually an Adelaide City Council initiative, set to draw crowds back into the city. If you've noticed some strange things around the city lately, chances are probably had something to do with it. Giant bubbles on the River Torrens, VW Beetles used as plant pots, colourful dots all over the city foot paths; its all part of reinvigorating Adelaide and bringing more life to the city during the summer months.

The official launch of was on the 7th of December, when Gawler Place was converted into a 'pop-up plaza'. This has continued as part of the campaign; you can head down to Gawler Place and sit at one of their tables while you sip on some homemade lemonade from the people who sell Adelaide's Famous Poffertjes . This can be a great spot to watch some of the street performers that set up nearby.

The council is aiming to bring people back to all areas of the city, and you'll find concentrated locales around the East End, West End, and the River Torrens Precinct.

While you're in the East End make the most of Summer Fridays in the East End . Dine on tasty food from Burger Theory or La Waffle , and browse through market stalls while DJs help keep the summer vibe alive. You can enjoy a spot of cinema in the summer air with their free outdoor cinema, showing everything from cult classics to local shorts.

Leigh Street is the centre of the West End Action. Not only did they have the West End Christmas Xmas Market and Carnival in December, but they're also offering Alfresco dining every Friday night. The street is closed off, and the local businesses are encouraged to spread out down the street, which works perfectly amongst the already thriving community of Leigh Street eateries.

You'll fine lots more across the city, like the Adelaide Ballzup giant inflatable balls that allow you to walk on water at the River Torrens, or the extended outdoor dining on James Place just off Rundle Mall. There are deck chairs being places along North Terrace for you to sit back and watch the world go by, and even a popcorn vendor who sets up on the corner of Hindley and Rundle Street.

The best way to keep up to date with everything that is happening, is to follow on Facebook or Twitter . You can also follow most of the businesses involved, to find out more specifics.

Instead of just jumping on the tram this summer and heading down to Glenelg, spend some more time in the city and see what fun activities are on offer.
