Spit to Manly Walk

Home > Sydney > Outdoor | Free
Published October 3rd 2008
The Spit to Manly walk is one of those things which you have to do it at least once if you live in Sydney.

Starting at the Spit Bridge and ending up in Manly the walk requires about 3-4 hours and takes in some amazing views of the harbour.

As well as a fun walk, it's also an education as to all the little beaches and parks to be found on that part of the harbour which are great for picnics, or somewhere different to have a swim.

Here is a map of the walk, and here are some directions.

You can park your car at the Spit and get a bus back (most buses heading to the city will be fine, ask the driver), or get a bus to the Spit, and then catch a ferry back to Circular Quay from Manly wharf.

With the Manly Jazz Festival on this weekend, you could do the walk in the morning, then have lunch at Manly and enjoy the Jazz in the afternoon, followed by a ferry trip back to the city. The perfect day!

Why? A great way to see the harbour.
