This month there are several religious and spiritual talks held in various parts of this sunny island. Here is our selection:

A Seminar by Os Guinness: The Church's Greatest Challenge Ever


Adam Road Presbyterian Church presents the renowned author and social critic Dr. Os Guinness. This event is co-organised with Ravi Zacharias International Ministry, Overseas Missionary Fellowship and Singapore Bible College. Find out more about his profile here and the church .

The speaker, who has written and edited more than thirty books, will address the issues in two talks. In the first talk, he will elaborate on renaissance issue and on whether the church could be revived in this 21st century. He will then further discuss secularism, relativism and modernity itself and its effect on the Christian church.

Welcome to Islam – Abdul Gafoor Mosque, Appreciating the Early Islamic Arts & Architecture



The Converts' Development Division (CDD) of Muslim Converts' Association of Singapore is organising a trip as part of our "Welcome to Islam" program exclusively for converts and partners. Lunch will be provided. Pre-registration is required.

The itinerary of the tour will include a visit to Abdul Gafoor Mosque. This mosque is a heritage religious building in the Little India area built by immigrants from Southern India in 19th century. The current building is built in early 20th century. It has an outstanding architecture that is very different from other mosques built locally.

Serenity & Insight Meditation Retreat with Bhante Seelananda


There will be a 5-day retreat conducted by Bhante Seelananda. Vegetarian lunch and tea break will be provided. Participants are required to wear comfortable & modest clothes for meditation. Registration for free retreat will be closed by 24 April or when it is fully booked.

The retreat is free of charge. To cover the event costs, any amount of donations are welcomed. Please contact the center if you wish to donate by cheque or card.

Every night there will be a free public talk held from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. The topics are Right Understanding, Dependent Origination, Serenity & Insight, Four Noble Truths and the Eight Fold Noble Path, and Three Characteristics of Existence".
It will be open to public free of charge. No registration is required.

Ramayana - Beyond the stories



Swamini Siddheshvari Devi Ji, a world-renowned teacher of Spirituality, Yoga and Meditation, will give talks from 16 to 22 April 2016 at Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple. This event is organised by RMS, a registered charity organisation in Singapore.

Ramayana is probably the most misunderstood stories among the Hindu scriptures as many heard the recitation of the Ramayana verses. The speaker will explore the misconceptions along with the essence of Ramayana.

Looking for that "something more" in life?



The Daughters of St Paul invites all single women from age 18 to 30 to spend an afternoon with them. For those who are interested, this is an opportunity to mingle with the sisters, hear their stories and testimonies, have Q&A session with them, and share with other young women.

There will be a reflection and prayer. Lunch will be provided. This event is free of charge. Donation is welcomed.

The Daughters of St Paul is an international religious Catholic congregation to serve Jesus. They spread the Gospel and promote the dignity of all peoples. They have written books, produced videos and set up a media shop at Church of the Risen Christ. Currently there are five nuns based here since the community was established on May 1st, 1994.
