Learning about Spirit - and not out of a bottle
The Australian College of Aromatherapy will be presenting its inaugural Spiritual Aromatherapy Workshop in Melbourne on Saturday, 3rd of September.
I was a guest at a four hour Spiritual Aromatherapy Workshop held at the College's Brisbane premises late last year. Although I am quite familiar with the practical uses of the Essential Oils, like reaching for the Peppermint Oil instead of a Mars Bar to combat the 3pm slump, I admit to being sceptical when the term Spiritual is bandied about. Spiritual anything.
Did I enjoy the four hours learning about chakras and how to keep them balanced? And Aromatherapy and mindfulness? Or the energy of Essential Oils?
Although I did not experience any great epiphanies some of the lessons from the day have been quietly taken on board. I now listen to my body ( I think I always did but didn't know that's what I was doing). I accept that by not releasing stress from my past my attempts to move forwarded are inhibited. And Mindfulness practises are so easy to implement into daily living.
American author, Caroline Myss, the self proclaimed medical intuitive and mystic states, "What drains your spirit drains your body. What fuels your spirit fuels your body".
Workshop Facilitator and College Principal, Gwendoline Ford, tells me that this all day Workshop has been specially designed to evoke a deep and meaningful connection with the spirit so that you are able to live an authentic, inspired and revitalised life.
