Friday 13th happens every once in a while and what a great day to have a function!

AQWA -The Aquarium of Western Australia is hosting an adult's only underwater culinary event on Friday 13th July, 2018. Here the guests will discover and sample products from some of Western Australia's finest distilleries. This will be part of the 30th-anniversary celebrations of the Aquarium.

Yes, the AQWA has now been open 30 years! AQWA is a privately run company dedicated to "generating wonder and respect for the marine life of Western Australia."

Imagine exquisite spirit infused food, great live music and FREE top shelf liquor tastings from 5 of Western Australia's award-winning distilleries including rum, gin, vodka and whiskey.

AQWA will announce one company every Friday evening leading up to the event! You can see these each week at their Facebook page.

There will be distilleries from as far north as Dongara to Margaret River and the Swan Valley. You will have the opportunity to meet the owners, taste award-winning spirits, and enjoy AQWA by night.

You will taste award-winning gins, vodkas, rums and bourbons whilst enjoying live music and a specially created "spirit-infused" menu of your choice. Spirits of AQWA will feature the following distilleries:

High Spirits Distillery

This is run by brothers Mike and Jade and is a small family owned and operated craft distillery. They originally started out on a shoestring budget, making all of their products from scratch. Since opening in August of 2017, the passionate team are already achieving international awards, including Gin of the Year 2018 at the London Spirits competition!

Their station on the night will be offering the following free tastings;

1. Vodka Cocktail taster
2. Dry Gin Neat
3. Smoked Gin cocktail taster or Neat (as per customer request)

The Grove Distillery - a unique Margaret River distillery winning gold this year at the 2018 Tasting Australia Spirit Awards for best dark rum

Illegal Tender - located in Dongara, this distillery has a reputation for the best unaged cane spirit, or white rum, as awarded this year at the World Rum Awards
