Spirit of India is where you can enjoy tasty Indian cuisine. The dishes range from those most Australians would associate with the cuisine to more unique offerings.
We liked that the beef in the Beef Biryani was not tough, and the pieces were big enough to make eating the dish satisfying. The rice was light and fluffy, and the spices gave the dish a spicy kick that was not too hot. Slices of chilli provided extra heat. Accompanying the dish was raita to soothe the spiciness.

Noted to be the chef’s special, the chunks of chicken in the Chicken Methi Malai were tender enough to be easily cut with a spoon. Like the Beef Biryani, the chunks of chicken were of a generous size. The spiciness of the gravy is suitable for most tastes and there were flecks of herbs mixed throughout.

Though listed as an entrée dish, the portion size of the Gobi Manchurian was big enough for it to be shared. The cauliflower retained their texture and the process of deep-frying them gave the exterior some crispiness. It may not look like it but the sauce packs a potent spicy kick. Capsicum added a touch of sweetness to serve as a foil to the spiciness.

The vegetables in the Navratan Korma retained their texture and tofu provided a contrast of texture. The gravy had a slightly thick consistency and was mild enough for those not used to spicy foods.

For a Naan that is a bit different, there is the Chilli Garlic Naan. The Naan was light and had a slightly chewy texture. It was cooked sufficiently to give the exterior a bit of char. The chilli did not make the dish too hot and it had the degree of garlicy flavour we expected.
