The Spirit Festival is South Australia's premier Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultural event, showcasing the nation's best in Indigenous dance, music, theatre, visual arts, literature and workshops.
Celebrating 8 years in 2015, the Spirit Festival is a FREE public event, which will be held at Tandanya NACI – 253 Grenfell Street, Adelaide & Mullawirraburka (Rymill Park extension).
The annual event is proudly presented by Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute (NACI) and [Give Up Smokes for Good], Arts SA and Adelaide City Council and partners with Adelaide Fringe Festival, Ausdance, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, SA Writers Centre and Nexus Multi-cultural Arts.
Running over 5 bustling days from Wednesday 11th to Sunday 15th of March, 2015, this family-friendly event is sure to inspire you to 'explore your artistic side, tickle your funny bone, heighten your senses, get you moving, get involved and feel proud!'
This year's event features a fantastic line-up of entertainment, including Thelma Plum, Ursula Yovich, Deadly Funny, Shauntai Batzke, Kayla Truth and Buddy Knox.
In addition to the live entertainment, event-goers can also participate in a range of interactive workshops, including language lessons, writing programs, dot painting, storytelling, native flower and artifact making, plus many other 'hands on' workshops.
