Spin Off Music Festival 2012

I'm a mother, wife, writer and online store owner. I've lived in the southern suburbs of Adelaide all my life.
Event:
Everyone loves a good music festival; the chance to get out in the fresh air with your friends and listen to great bands with the freedom to wander from one area to the next.

Big Day Out is always popular as well as Soundwave so if you're a fan of these types of events you will be excited to learn (if you don't already know) that a brand new music festival is being held for the first time ever right here in Adelaide.

Hosted by Triple J, Spin Off will be held on Saturday 21 July 2012 from 1pm to 11pm in the Jubilee Pavilion at the Wayville Showground. Okay, so you might not get the fresh air and sunshine you would at festivals in summer but at least this way you won't be shivering whilst trying to look cool outside in the pouring rain.

Spin Off is a joint venture between Splendour Co-Promoter Paul Piticco (Splendour in the Grass festival) and Adelaide based 5/4 Entertainment and features awesome bands including international act Lana Del Ray, UK band Band of Skulls and Brooklyn based band Friends.

As well as the international acts, good old home grown bands will also feature including Last Dinosaurs, Bleeding Knees Club, Kimbra, The Rubens, DZ Deathrays and Yacht Club DJs.

Tickets are on sale from 9am on Monday 16 May 2012 and are available from www.moshtix.com.au, 5/4 Entertainment Offices at 194a Wright Street, Adelaide or from all Globalize stores.

This is the perfect opportunity to be a part of the inaugural festival and experience some of the greatest acts Adelaide can offer you this year and with tickets costing $99 ($99 if bought at a Globalize store or 5/4 Entertainment, $99 plus a booking fee if bought online), for ten hours of entertainment it's well worth it.

Guidelines for entering the festival can be found here.

Please read these guidelines carefully if you have any concerns as you may be surprised (as I was), to learn that you are not in fact allowed to take pineapples or crocodiles into the event; so perhaps leave old snappy at home.

With the high quality and popular acts performing at this event, if enough people get behind it and support it, I'm sure it will become an event you can look forward to each year.

Further information on the festival can be found here.
