You can tell from the name of this eatery, Spice of Life, that this is no ordinary cafe. Located in a beautiful area no other than on North Tamborine Mountain, Spice of Life Cafe and Deli encompasses everything from breakfast to dessert, with origins from Byron Bay all the way to Brazil. All of these flavours can be sampled at the cafe - if there are any flavours you particularly like, they will most likely be available for purchase on site, or online.
Their products include: ogilvie jams and condiments, Fehlbergs antipasti, Brookfarm muesli and macadamia oil, Nicholsen Finishing Vinegars, Pukara flavoured olive oils and vinegars, Gourmet Spice Blend Dukkas, Lindt and Droste chocolates, Chiasso coffee and Chai teas. Look how many items are available for purchase!
Spice of Life provides a warm inviting environment for you and your close ones to share a meal. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, with plenty of tables for whichever you decide to go for. Of course, having a dog, we opted for outdoor seating. If I had to sum up what the outdoor seating at Spice of Life was like in just two words, I would use "picturesque" and "relaxing" to describe it - it was perfect for our little group of 4 (Eddy included). The many plants used as decoration was just cherry on top of the cake!
Spice of Life has an extensive food menu - 4 whole pages to be exact! They have an all day menu, in addition to a breakfast menu and lunch menu. For those with little ones, there is also a children's menu.
I ended up opting for the 'battered barramundi' from the lunch menu, which included 4 pieces of perfectly cooked fish, served with salad, fries, and home-made tartare sauce. I'm glad I decided to share with a friend, because the portion size was bigger than I was expecting! My other friend opted for the 'tandoori chicken pizzetta', also from the lunch menu - the pizza had many toppings, including cheese, cherry tomatoes, capsicum, zucchini, tandoori chicken, olives, hummus, and tzatziki. They were both extremely delicious - we would recommend these dishes to anyone who was interested in visiting Spice of Life.
Of course, no meal is complete without a drink - no worries, because Spice of Life has got it covered! They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from, both hot and cold options. My friend opted for a mocha. My other friend and I (and Eddy) decided to just have water on that particular day.
For those of you who take sugar with your coffee or tea, Spice of Life, like other cafes, will have this available at your tables. What sets them aside from others is the container in which the sugar is located - I actually had no idea what was inside till I opened them!
As a side and final note, there are private toilets available for patrons right outside the cafe, which I must say is extremely convenient. Our little group had a great time at Spice of Life Cafe and Deli, and should we ever be in the area again, we will definitely be back!
