I write for Weekend Notes and I take photographs, usually sunsets and sunrises. Occasionally I include my photos in my articles. I like to promote Geelong, and activities around Geelong.

The entrance to the dining area
The Sphinx Hotel used to be called the Golfview Hotel. I'm sure there are a lot of readers out there who remember the old Golfview Hotel!
After a bit of revamping the Hotel is now quite exotic looking, with a 15 metre Sphinx sitting above the Hotel. The Sphinx Hotel offers a lot in the way of entertainment. You can dine in Pharoah's Bistro. The Bistro is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
Phone the Sphinx Hotel and book a table for your special occasion. My family has celebrated a few birthdays there. My daughter had her 21st birthday dinner there. I celebrated my birthday in December and also booked a table. The meals are reasonably priced, and the plates are full.

Also at the Sphinx Hotel there is a Sportsbar, an Entertainment Lounge, the Luxor Lounge Conference & Function Room, and the Drive-Thru Liquor Store. There is also the Cazbar Dance Club which is open every Friday with Live Bands. Saturday Nights the Retro A Go-Go Nightclub is open.
