Bondi is iconic for being of the most Instagram-ed beaches in the world. Not far off from this beach, tucked away up a steep little hill is in North Bondi. This venue would hands-down be the most colourful cafe in the area.

It is popular with the locals and tourists in the area. It's not hard to see why, the food is packed full of freshness, flavour, colour and good quality organic ingredients and there is, of course, the view of the beach from the long bench window at the front of the cafe which is priceless.

My partner and I had the pleasure of heading here recently after I did a little foodie hunt (as I do) online for a good brunch place, Speedos came up and needless to say, I had to make a pitstop.

It wasn't had to find the venue with patrons out the door from their morning surf. We managed to get a seat at the back wall which was actually quite lucky, seeing how heavily occupied the eatery was. It wasn't too long we waited and our drinks arrive.

I thought I would mix it up by ordering my very first red velvet latte. They say on the menu it 'tastes like a warm marshmallowy cupcake' and they couldn't be more true. The latte arrived with a cute little message 'I Love You' and was heaven. The creamy marshmallow taste was to die for. Needless to say, it did not last long.

Next up was the tough decision on what to have for breakfast. Scanning the menu it was great to see such a variety on offer. Speedos literally has the taste buds of all covered. From the raw meals right through the big breakfasts for British expats (such as my partner). There are also adequate options for vegans and those with either gluten or dairy free needs.

Feeling savoury I decided to go with the 'gen y' option. If the name didn't give it away, it was comprised of smashed avocado, poached eggs, danish fetta, zaatar, snow pea sprouts, mild chilli, cherry tomato and quinoa soy sourdough.

While we waited we ogled a few other breakfast options that came out. The pancakes were definitely a standout stacked three high with a mouth-watering display of colour from fresh fruit and flowers.

Not long later the breakfasts made an appearance from the kitchen and graced our table. The first bite into our dishes and there were no complaints at either end of the table. The fresh chilli gave a nice kick to the smashed avocado and the eggs were perfectly poached.

It's definitely a no-brainer to visit Speedos if you are in the area. They also have a great lunch menu with a variety of clean and cheeky eats. These can be washed down with one of their delicious smoothies. My only little peeve was not being able to go back and try the pancakes. Oh well, always next visit.
