The award winning play by Andrew Bovell, Speaking in Tongues, is coming to Adelaide. Speaking in Tongues is perhaps best known for it's 2001 film adaptation Lantana starring Anthony Lapaglia, Kerry Armstrong and Geoffrey Rush, which explored the complex relationships of all of the characters. Now Adelaide's renowned State Theatre Company will be performing this complex drama all through July.
Speaking in Tongues takes the varied relationships of its central characters to explore issues of trust, intimacy, fidelity and grief. The lives of these characters are deeply intertwined, as their stories continue the mystery of the play unfolds.
The State Theatre Company is well known for it's high quality productions. Over the years it has been nominated for and won many awards, and has been responsible for bringing many internationally acclaimed shows to Adelaide. The strong performance of the State Theatre Company is sure to bring out the best from this Australian production.
