Sparrow Kitchen & Bar
Sparrow Kitchen & Bar

Sparrow Kitchen & Bar is a modern and contemporary restaurant located conveniently on O'Connell Street, North Adelaide. It is ideal for a romantic dinner with your partner or as a place to dine with friends and colleagues.

If you happen to arrive early, you can have a sit at the bar and choose a pre-dinner drink. Whether it is a fine glass of wine, schooner of beer, or a fruity sangria, there is something for you to enjoy.

The bar is also available for those who just want a light bite instead of a main meal. Some of the tapas dishes at the bar that would go well with your alcoholic beverage are Sparrow's mini wagyu burgers and freshly sliced cold meats.

My partner and I decided to dine in at the restaurant by candlelight. We chose the tasting menu, a selection of ten different dishes, each one reasonably small, but was more than enough to satisfy us by the end of the tenth course. The tasting menu costs $59 per person, but I think that is more than fair value, as many degustation menus at other restaurants can cost in excess of $100 per person.

Some of our favourite dishes were the pan fried gnocchi with roasted peppers and triple brie, and the duck doughnuts with aioli and porcini salt. There was no need to go out for dessert either as the last two courses were a sorbet, and churros with chocolate hazelnut sauce.

Overall, an enjoyable dining experience that I would be happy to recommend.

Sparrow isn't here anymore- dont know if its moved or gone altogether? The Curious Squire is now there- a bar/cafe.

Duck doughnuts? I can't quite imagine what that would taste like, but I like the sound of it. I've been to Sparrow once, quite a while ago now, but definitely had a great time there.
