An all-new festival celebrating the finest sparkling wines

'Sparkling Sydney', a unique gastronomically diverse event celebrating Australian & International sparkling wines, launches at Pirrama Park, Pyrmont on Sunday 19 May, 2019, 11.00am to 5.00pm. Entry is FREE!

The only event of its kind, the inaugural 'Sparkling Sydney' is a vibrant showcase of flavour, sustainability, and ethical produce being held on the edges of Sydney's glistening harbour.

Expect a wonderful balance of gourmet food and Australia-wide regional produce and fine beverages, including:

  • Australian sparkling wines

  • Imported sparkling wines

  • Sparkling varietals

  • Craft ales & cider

  • Hand-picked gourmet food pairings

  • Local artisan produce
  • With more than 60 sparkling wines to sample, you're sure to find your new favourites! The premier Australian list includes Peterson House Ltd, Redbank Wines, Savannah Estate, Stonehurst Cedar Creek, Gooree Park Wines, Tamburlaine Organic Wines, Santa & D'Sas, Bunnamagoo Estate, Hungerford Hill, Lerida Estate, Mount Majura Vineyard, Pinnaro Wines, Gundog Estate and Vinden Estate. International sparkling wines will be presented by XWineandZ, Made in Italy, Direct Wine Cellars and EuroConcepts.

    There will also be a special array of Sparkling Bar activations to enjoy during the festival. Stop by the Bellini Cipriani Bar, where visitors can savour the luxury of simplicity with a combination of the finest prosecco and fresh Mediterranean white peach brought to you by Bellini Cipriani.

    For the ultimate food pairing experience, wander over to The Ridge North Lilydale Sparkling Rose & Oyster Bar, where you'll meet Oyster Farmer John Blankstein. John will be shucking delicious, 'fresh from the farm' Sydney Rock Oysters will be paired with an award-winning NV Sparkling Rose from 'The Ridge North Lilydale' a prominent small vineyard on the Tamar Valley Wine Trail. 'The Ridge North Lilydale' was named Best Small Vineyard, Tasmania, for 2017.

    Foodies can also indulge in signature dishes from Sydney's modern Asian fusion heroes Jimmy Liks. Try their barbecued chicken or smoked trout and rice noodle salad with Thai basil, mint, coriander, roasted peanuts, fried shallot & red chilli dressing.

    Safran, Ettalong Beach's legendary contemporary Turkish restaurant, will be serving up a Loaded Hummus - Fresh Turkish bread & Safran's traditional hummus topped with either: Twice cooked lamb shoulder, caramelised onion, pine nuts & parsley butter - Crumbled falafel, fried artichokes & crisp kale (vegan optional).

    Dumpling lovers can tuck into Jade Huang's delicious home-made steamed dumplings thanks to local restaurant identity Muriel Chen of the popular Blue Eye Dragon.

    Sir Knuckles will also deliver their mamma's hand-made Italian style gnocchi with their variety of traditional sauces while the signature Paella by Sofrito, bursting with seafood, chorizo and chicken looks like being one of the stars.

    Meat & Cleaver will use their locally sourced, premium quality meats in delicious gourmet burgers. How does succulent slow-cooked lamb, beef or pork in soft brioche buns sound!

    Vegan options will be provided by Yulli's Alexandria with their cult-favourite The Greek and The Vietnamese vegan wraps, and their signature Southern Fried Cauliflower w/ Chipotle Mayo.

    Finish off your meal with some Alexander Coffee, and satisfy your sweet tooth with hand made Choux Patisserie.

    In addition, Fever-Tree and Adelaide Hills Distillery will be bringing to life the Fever-Tree Gin and Tonic Garden Bar. Featuring the award-winning range of gin from the Adelaide Hills Distillery including the highly acclaimed Green Ant gin.

    Here gin lovers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into the different flavour profiles of gin and uncover the importance of pairing with the correct tonic to create the perfect Gin and Tonic.

    'Sparkling Sydney' is a free public event. All are welcome. Tasting ticket packages starting at $20.00 (including a branded 'Sparkling Sydney' taster glass) can be pre-purchased through Eventbrite HERE. Tasting packages will also be available at the event and can be purchased from the Tasting Ticket Marquee.
