Never play netball before, or have heaps of experience? Don't worry! Sparkling Diamonds tries to cater for all.
Sparkling Diamonds was formed in 2007 to give underprivileged children in Adelaide the opportunity to play netball regardless of their background, enjoy affordable sports, and to mix with others. This was expanded to include young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds, together with other Australian youngsters. It has since widened to include any children, underprivileged, or not, and it is all run by volunteers.
Sparkling Diamonds' vision is that all young people, regardless of ability, should have the opportunity to play netball. The Club is committed to helping young Australians regardless of culture, religion, and so on. For this reason, Diamonds offers much more than just netball.
The club has its own grounds. This includes two newly resurfaced courts, plus the use of the hall and clubrooms; with kitchen, pool tables and a small gym, thanks to generous sponsors.
Individuals with mild disabilities will be integrated into existing teams. However, should an organisation with 4 teams or more be interested in playing, a separate competition will be set up to cater to this need.
Children and youth who join Sparkling Diamonds can go on to represent the club, to become an umpire, assistant, coach, or the ultimate accolade, representing the club as a Youth Ambassador.
