If you ever wondered where Australia sits on the global platform of climate solutions, SPARK at the Australian Museum , 1 William St, Sydney is the Exhibition you want to be at. It's FREE, and opens Thursday 3 June 2021 and runs till 31 August 2021. See here for more information on visiting the Australian Museum. This is your opportunity to celebrate the innovative Australian-made inventions looking to reduce pollution, create affordable and clean energy and promote prosperity while protecting the planet.

Did you know Australians lead the world in solar innovation and uptake of roof-top solar? Or that the world's first domestic hydrogen battery, powering a house on a bucket of water a day, is an Australian invention? From clean energy to supporting biodiversity, get insight into the brilliant inventions and valuable work being done in Australia to solve the ever-evolving climate crisis.


Exhibition highlights include -

  • Wind Power - wind became Australia's leading clean energy source in 2019
  • Solar Power - Australia has some of the best conditions for harnessing solar and one of the highest uptakes of solar energy in the world.
  • Electric Transport - decreasing carbon emissions, this technology is becoming more accessible with Australia's first home-grown electric ride.
  • Hydrogen Power - an incredible energy source the world is starting to embrace, it uses a bucket of water to power your house for a day.
  • Cultural Burning - Caring for Country - learn how traditional knowledge and methods can offer a guide to the survival of future generations.
  • Supporting Biodiversity- find out how you can create your own backyard habitat for wildlife and help regenerate our local ecosystems.
  • Microalgae - an incredible resource that can capture as much carbon as a hectare of forest.
  • Seawood Farms - removes billions of tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere and stops cow's burping out methane.
  • Regenerative Agriculture - what farmers are doing to help regenerate soil and to produce healthier food and higher yields.
  • Building Smarter - looking at more sustainable ways of building by engaging with exciting new materials that revive waste and reduce emissions.
