See a 4-metre high puppet and help make him move at Cockburn
Australia's flagship puppet theatre is bringing two special events to Cockburn Gateways Shopping City this summer, including a mesmerising four-metre high illuminated masterpiece!
Fremantle's Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is presenting String Symphony at the centre from Thursday, 10 January to Saturday, 12 January 2019, followed by puppet-making workshops from Monday, 21 January to Friday, 25 January.
String Symphony is a large-scale, interactive puppet show in which audience participation is an integral part of the performance. The four-metre high, hand-woven puppet is made from over a kilometre of rope and is manipulated by 12 audience members while dazzling onlookers.
There will be performances each day in the Piazza at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 8.45pm and you can watch a video of the puppets in action below:
Spare Parts Puppets Theatre is also giving children the opportunity to make their own puppets at the centre between 10am and 2pm from Monday, 21 January to Friday, 25 January. This activity is free and will take place outside Big W.
You might also catch a glimpse of roaming puppet Mr Big, who will be making his way around the centre!
This is a fantastic opportunity to see giant puppetry in action or get the kids out of the house and making their own little puppets. Head over to Cockburn for these activities and more. You can read about more free school holiday events here.
