Are you a film festival junkie? If, like me, you love cinema and you're an admirer of Spanish culture – the wonderfully passionate and melodic language, the vibrant food, the colourful history, the architecture, the music - look out for the 15 Annual Spanish Film Festival coming to a city near you from 4 July.
Every year for the last 14 years the Spanish Film Festival has brought a taste of Spain and Latin America in the form of cinematic gems to cities around Australia.
This year's Spanish Film Festival almost didn't go ahead because of the financial woes of sponsors in Spain hit by the economic crisis. However, the dedicated (and passionate, of course) festival director Natalia Ortiz managed to pull it off at the last minute with the help of our very own
Palace Cinemas, host to most of our International Film Festivals and the home of arthouse and independent cinema in Australia.
This year's line-up looks very inviting and diverse, with something for everyone, from drama, to thriller, to comedy and from Spanish-speaking countries around the world such as Peru, Argentina and Mexico.
