The phrase "there's no place like home" was true until I discovered Souvlaki Brothers a few years back.

This traditional, European yiros bar (also known as "Souv Bro's), is situated in Moseley Square at Glenelg and is one of the most popular destinations for a relaxed lunch or dinner by the seaside.

Souvlaki Brothers is home to many local party-animals, who, instead of taking part in a typical "maccas run", indulge in a yiros to cure their so-called "drunk cravings".

One of my all-time favourites from their wide selection is the traditional lamb yiros. It's jam-packed with lamb (fresh off the spit), lettuce, tomato, onion and garlic sauce. Another favourite is the Cypriot yiros, which gives you a little extra taste with haloumi cheese.

Another thing that can't go unnoticed are their famous hot chips, simply because they are like no other. They're garnished with chicken salt and oregano, but as a wise man once said, "it always tastes better when someone else makes it".

Although they are mainly known for their mouth-watering yiros', Souvlaki Brothers also make a selection of burgers, salads, meat packs, skewers (octopus, prawn, lamb or chicken) and kids meals.

All food is great and the chips aren't just chicken salt and oregano it is a special salt mix that has been passed down from generation to generation. As for the sleazebag comment I frequent the place and have never come across any sleazes that work there.
