Get aquainted with all the Southside community has to offer
After the major success of Annerley Uncovered last year, Annerley Community Hub has decided to branch out and include suburbs surrounding the Southside suburb in this year's community expo.
A huge drawcard this year is the BrisLETS (Brisbane Local Energy Trading System) group coming along to demonstrate their solution for trading without physical money. They will also have guest speaker Tim Jenkin who revolutionised the exchange of goods and services at the township level without reliance on a formal money and banking system to give a talk on the day at 12pm.
Just as the last one, this event boasts a large range of activities which are mostly free or trade-based. You can bring in your clothes and books to swap with others on the day and exchange household items for other unique pieces you find among the bric a brac which has been donated by local businesses and opportunity shops.
The community garden is only small but there will be free workshops throughout the day with gardening guru, Alex Skinner who can show you how to start a worm farm and how to make a no-dig garden bed.

Last year, the star of the show was the community bake sale where locals donated home-baked goods to be sold by donation with all proceeds returning to the Hub to help them continue their work in the local area.
There will also be local community groups including The Annerley-Stephens History Group, Braille House, Stephens Croquet Club and lots more to showcase what they do and how they fit into the local cultural landscape.
There will be some free live music playing and you are more than welcome to come along and busk during the day. Get in touch with ACH at firstname.lastname@example.org
