You've summoned up your courage to ask out your crush - and they said yes! You might think the hard part is over, but it's only just begun. Now you have to figure out where to go.
Simple but effective, a movie first date gives you a shared experience to discuss - and also gets you along in a darkened room. If you really want to impress, try one of these cinemas on Brisbane's southside.

Impress them with your intellect at
Dendy Cinema. Their southside offering at
Coorparoo includes recent release Hollywood movies, as well as more cerebral documentaries and indie art house films. Grab pre or post drinks and snacks at the Lounge Bar and take in the panoramic views of the city.
Impress them with a luxury experience at
Victoria Point Cineplex - minus the luxury price tag, of course!
Victoria Point Cineplex (Bunker Road, Lakeside Centre, Victoria Point) is a budget cinema chain offering Hollywood blockbusters for some of the cheapest prices in Brisbane. Splash out on a Gold Class ticket at $12.50 each (check out session times
here).
Please note - due to COVID19, Victoria Point Cineplex is currently card only.
Impress them with a cosy intimacy at
Yatala Drive-In. You'll have to go a little further (although not as far as some of
these Queensland drive-ins), but it will be worth it.
Yatala offers a variety of cinema experiences, from new release to old classics, as well as sing-along nights. Whether you should take your date to karaoke is a decision only you can make!
Well Brisbane lovers, it's over you now. Share your best first date cinema in the comments below.
