Spanning over 100 acres, this southern Sydney bush-land reserve is a popular family park for local residents.

It includes many attractions, including: a large children's playground with a historic steamroller, an oval, bush walking tracks, and a swimming area overlooking the Jew Fish Bay.

Surrounded by natural bush land, the sizable playground within the 'Steamroller Park' has engaging play equipment, with a castle theme.

There are knight and princess templates allowing parents cute photographs of their little ones, and plenty of climbing equipment and slides. There are swings, a seesaw and a small flying fox. Nearby there is a sheltered electric barbecue.

The historic steamroller is a popular feature of this park, and is fully accessible to children. It includes steps that children can climb to reach its steering wheel.

Among the bush walking tracks in Oatley Park is a series of steps that lead to the Jew Fish Bay, a scenic stretch of beach, also home to the Oatley Swimming Club.

The only downside of this otherwise tranquil picnic area is that its waterfront walkway has no safety barricades.

Within Oatley Park there is also an unusual construction, 'The Castle', erected in the early 1930s. Resembling a small castle, it is a popular picnic venue, available for hire, with barbecues and access to a power point.
