Make note of the 16th and 17th September 2017 in your diary if you love a beautiful garden where orchids reside. From 10am to 4pm on those dates, the Southern Suburbs Orchid Society will be having their 2017 Annual Spring Show at the N G Wishart Senior Citizens Hall, 964 Nepean Highway, Moorabbin and entry is $3.00. Refreshments will be available.

If you thought orchids were too hard to grow and have always wanted one, or want to explore and bask in the beauty of flowering Australian and other exotic orchids, this is the event for you. Best of all, orchid growing experts will be there to answer your queries. A large range of flowering orchids and orchid growing accessories will also be for sale, or you might just get lucky with a chance to win these items through a raffle that'll run during the event.


If you'd like to get involved, 'Where Friends Meet' , they meet on the first Wednesday of each month (except January) at the above address. One of the features of these meetings include an invited guest speaker talking on advanced Orchid culture. A flowering competition is also held at each meeting, with members getting a chance to show off their flowering plants.
