The annual Southern Rockhounds Gem, Mineral and Craft Fair is on again over the first weekend of November. It's a fun family day filled with market stalls, kids activities, and demonstrations.



You'll be able to trawl through stalls offering jewellery, crystals, gemstones, minerals, fossils, and even plants. It doesn't matter if you're an avid collector, after a new piece of jewellery, or just curious. There will be a wide range of products available, so you're sure to find something.



Kids can come along and have fun with the free gold panning or the free fosicking pit. It's a good way to instil a lover for rocks and minerals in young kids. Children under 14 also get free entry to the fair, while adult entry is $2.50 and student and pensioner entry is $1.50; it's a cheap way to keep the kids entertained on the weekend.

The Southern Rockhounds Christie Downs' clubrooms are regularly used by members for silver work, beading, wire wrapping, and stone cutting and polishing. During the fair there will be demonstrations of all of these activities and more, if you're interested you can even sign up for a membership.



The fair is on the 2nd and 3rd of November, from 10am till 5pm on Saturday and from 10am till 4pm on Sunday.
