Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens is proudly hosting its 9th annual Autumn Open Garden Weekend.
This is a special opportunity to explore five privately owned open gardens and a delightful plant fair. Held on the weekend on 27th and 28th April 2019, the Autumn Open Garden Weekend will showcase 4 spectacular town gardens and one large 20-acre country garden in all their autumnal beauty.
'Bangala' and 'Timbarra' are mature plant collectors gardens while 'Gowan Brae' is renowned for its perennials and stunning roses.
'Wirreanda' is a unique large two-acre town garden surrounding a classic 1960's house located at the edge of Bowral, abutting farmland, which provides for stunning rural views.
'Rotherwood' is a 20-acre mature garden which is rarely open to the public.
The Plant Fair also returns to the Open Weekend and for the first time will feature the participation of 18 nurseries, plus garden art and sculptures and food and wine.
Some of the visiting nurseries include Antique Perennials, Post Office Hellebores, Country Farm Perennials, Alameda Homestead Clematis, Perenialle Plants, Red Earth Bulbs, Exeter Designer Plants and Moidarts Rare Plants. There will also be plants grown by the Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens Plant Growers Group.
