Planning to wed on the southern Gold Coast but need a few ideas on where to start? Narrowing down the most perfect place to wed is like playing favourites with your kids—we really are spoilt for choice.

Here's some of the most beautiful beaches and pretty parklands to get your outdoor ceremony sorted.

Pat Fagan Park is a popular choice if you are choosing to hold your reception at Greenmount Beach Resort or Twin Towns Clubs & Resorts . A hilltop position, flanked by tall pines, gives you sweeping views north.

There's a wide pathway and lookout area, which is good for small to medium-sized weddings. The only downside is that it is already a popular lookout, so be aware that you won't be the only group there, and guest parking—and possibly turning the limo around—may get a bit tricky.

Point Danger Park is a large, sweeping park area with uninterrupted views over the Pacific. Right on the Queensland / New South Wales border, this park has amenities and plenty of parking, with endless accommodation options nearby, so getting there won't be a hassle. It does get really windy on the clifftop, so make sure your hairstyle is properly in place!

Coolangatta Beach is a great place to tie the knot if you are getting married at The Coolangatta Hotel , or one of the local restaurants. Your guests can stay on Marine Parade and simply walk across to the beach, then dust the sand off their feet and head for the bar tab at your reception venue. Coolangatta Beach has views to Surfers and beyond, and although it's unprotected, you won't have to fight for space, as it stretches from Kirra Point down to Greenmount —boasting plenty of varied photo opportunities.

Burleigh Beach pretty much has it all. You've got dining, nightlife, accommodation and venues at your fingertips, plenty of parking, an iconic surf beach, plus the majestic Headland to take your vows. If you are holding your reception at Oskars or one of the many beachside clubs on the coastline, Burleigh is a convenient choice for your ceremony.

Froggy's Beach is a protected spot, nestled between Rainbow Bay and Duranbah, on Snapper Rocks. Bordering Point Danger, this beach has a lovely walkway leading you to the sand, and the dramatic contrast of the white sand against the dark, commanding boulders and cliffs that line the area is great for photos.

To start planning your beach wedding, go to the Gold Coast City Council website and submit your permit.
