They say laughter is the best medicine and here is something bound to get you giggling! Send home the clowns and queue the Laughter Clubs.
Laughter clubs have been around since Dr Madan Kataria founded the very first one in Mumbai, India 15 years ago, inadvertently starting a Global Laughter Movement that has seen over 6000 laughter clubs spring up worldwide.
The point is simple – to promote good health. Laughing helps carry more oxygen to the body and brain and helps to relieve stress, enhance the immune system and improve the cardiovascular system. The clubs are based on the premise that the body cannot tell the difference between fake and real laughter, so the benefits are identical!
If you love a good chuckle, the funny folks at the South Yarra Laughter Club meet every Saturday at 10am for 30 minutes of free giggles. And since laughter is brought on by nothing else but playfulness and eye staring, there's no need to rehearse a routine or dust-off the old "knock knock" jokes – just turn up with a well-tuned smile!
